Mohonk Mountain House, Artists Inspiration Week

Sanford Gifford The Shawangunk Mountains, 1864
I'm happy to announce that I'll be the featured artist at the Mohonk Mountain House's, Artists Inspiration Week, plein air painting event this year. I'll be giving both an indoor and an outdoor painting demonstration, and also will join participating artists for sunrise to sunset plein air painting on and around this beautiful, scenic, and historic property. This event could also be of interest for collectors, as there will be ongoing exhibitions throughout, and you can watch the artist's process as they are painting.

There is still room to join the event at the link below:

I haven't painted there yet, so I'll show some of my paintings after the event. Here are some pictures of similar scenery from the Catskills and Hudson Valley:

Erik Koeppel Sunset at Olana 30 x 48 in. Oil on Canvas (on view at the Guild of Boston Artists May/June,'17)
Erik Koeppel Glory of the Hudson 48 x 72 in. Oil on canvas, Collection of Marist College
Erik Koeppel The Kaaterskill Clove from Twilight Park 12 x 18 in., Oil on panel, Private Collection
Erik Koeppel View from Tip Top, Onteora Park 9 x 14 in. Oil on panel, Private Collection

Thank you for reading, and please join Lauren and I at the Mohonk Mountain House. Rumor has it that Miss Maybell and Slimpickin's will also make a performance. :)

Should be fun! More soon on the great success of the Recovering the American Sublime exhibition.
