These larger studio paintings were done from small paintings done outdoors in the Yosemite Valley last April.

If you look at the sketches you can get a sense of how everything was combined into the larger works rather than copying the small paintings exactly. I also use a lot of linear perspective, as well as imagination, to bring the parts together into a unified whole. To learn more about this process, check out my DVD at the link below.
