2 New Yosemite Studio Paintings

These larger studio paintings were done from small paintings done outdoors in the Yosemite Valley last April.

Here are some of the outdoor works that I used to make these:

8x12in. Sentinel Rock in Evening Light

10x8 in. Yosemite Falls

If you look at the sketches you can get a sense of how everything was combined into the larger works rather than copying the small paintings exactly. I also use a lot of linear perspective, as well as imagination, to bring the parts together into a unified whole. To learn more about this process, check out my DVD at the link below.

These new paintings, and others will be on view at the L.A. Show in January. More on that to come.
